Well on the subject of lights...I've always been an HID proponent. I have 3 red rings up front (actually black...but same shit). As of today...I now have a 40" radius bar on the roof. All spot beam. Comparison pictures below...I'll let you decide.

Also if any first gens need mounts, Eric at Relentless made a new low profile mount that chases the roof line.

Nothing beats them for performance still and price.

The 50 looks stupid on first gens.
It tapers out almost 2" on each side and gives it a down syndrome mushroom head.

Nice I will have to talk to him about the mounts. I really wanted to see what 10 watt LED were all about so this showed up yesterday.

I'm planning on putting 4 55w converted Hella 4000's on a roof rack sometime this summer. Going to replace the 4 red rings on the front bumper with a 20" to 30" light bar for low speed stuff.

Still my favorite setup for lights is HIDs at the back of the cab on a flip up mount. I will be doing that this summer

From this pic from jberry's truck, the initial glare off the hood isn't nearly as bad as i thought it might be, years ago we got away from roof mounted lights because of the glare bouncing off a dusty hood was brutal, maybe because of all the extra forward shooting lumens & added visibility cancels out the glare that i DO see, but def. not bad...

It's not bad at all, but I also have a flat black hood.
I do have an idea to eliminate the hood glare completely...but don't have the time at the moment. Likely won't happen till after Moab this year.

You could add a scoop under the light bar to move the cut off out further.

I'll make sure to take it off next time we go to the mall I guess...

And... I kept my rack and the actuator off my Toyota so that I could mount it on the ford eventually. My biggest issue is do I widen it to run 5 or 6 of them. I have 4 black Hella 4000's converted to HID and I have two of the real red ring hella 4000 hid's also laying around to use. My F150 will not have any LED's. I do like the 50" on my expo though, it's not fast enough to need more. Like someone said, it's great for trails. The TPF yota, with the combo of HID and LED it's pretty nice. Wouldn't want the LED's alone though! Also, MAJOR difference in light output on the ground between that 50" mounted above the windshield on the TPF truck vs on my bumper of the exploder. Exact same lights but the amount of light on the ground is pretty drastically different because of the mounting location differences.
