    Next time out take someone with you that will take some video of you making a few passes through what you would typically drive through and send to SDHQ.

    My truck drove like shit with off the shelf valving. I'm getting closer but still not where it should be. If I get my truck back in the next couple weeks I plan on having it where it needs to be by Thanksgiving.

    we were all getting pics and vids on a nice whoop section off of sand highway. wasn't sure where you were. just have the pin it. 35 was definitely not enough for those. i hit it at about 45 and was still not quick enough.

    yss with too much preload it rides like crap. id go up in tires. and hit it faster.

    When I go hit the dunes I raise my front end up to where I only have about 2" of down travel and 7" up travel (*I'm not LT). I find I need all the up travel I can get and the lack of downtravel doesn't seem to affect me.

    When driving around town the lack of downtravel sucks ass because I hear the shocks bottom out on potholes and speed bumps (unless I hit them with speed, haha).

    Sand may be a tad different than the desert since there may be some drops here and there while the dunes near me are up smashing into inclines at speed. So I find myself smacking my diff skid into shit more often the lower I am...

    That's interesting, my cousins who have sand rails have the travel set so they mostly have down travel instead of up travel.

    Yeah. Sandrails typically have a centered A-arm setup so they can have tons of travel without getting real wide. My guess is that they have found they have enough up travel for what they do and they set it lower to have a lower COG for cornering.

    I really like your truck man. I completely agree with you, the new ones have too many critical wires in the loom to be reliable.

    Front long travel custom: king 10" CO, solid lowers, fabbed spindle, heimed everything ect. Rear still in progress, waiting to be put on: bilstein 9100s, T100 axle. Stock 3.4 engine, 4.30 gears.
    Do you have standard 15/12 valving in your coilovers as well as valving in your bypass?

    Maybe you weren't up to speed, or have too much dampening Up front

    Oh believe me I am really jealous of the power of the newer trucks and hopefully doing a lil something to keep up on runs better but knock on wood she has never been trailered home in 4 years of abuse

    Ya...the power is nice, but driving a 22RE full tilt is a lot more fun than a 4.0 at half throttle. Unless you're in the dunes a lot, power doesn't mean much in the desert. I had the most fun in my 1980 Hilux with a 20R, and still wish I never sold it.
