Those are poor man's helmet to protect your head from the cage. Haha

You can convert your bypass's heims to bushings but I don't know if that helps enough to be worth it.

Bypass clicks are fine thoes wont bother me i know theres no way around thoes. what im worried about is motor noise, exhaust, driveline noises and creaks and things along thoes lines making noises through the cage does anyone have big issues with that or just the bypasses?

sounds like wrapping the cage in mlv is the only option that might kinda work but dont think its worth it

just get an intercom and headsets... bypasses are the one noise of that list that MIGHT be somewhat preventable... driveline and motor noises will be gnarly since you basically have to have them all solid mounted.
my old pickup vibrated like crazy and the cage wasn't even past the c pillar. Once you weld cab to cage, quiet life is over

I have solid motor and trans mounts. I tried to go nuts on sound deadening the cab, but it doesn't really help. The sound travels through the tubes of the cage. I even tried wrapping the cage with sound deadner covered in kevlar cloth on the main tubes, didn't help. Maybe a little, but not much. I insulated the upper end of the shocks with bushings and it helped a lot, but I still hear the bypass clatter on washboard roads. A couple of amps and a 12' sub are the best mod to address this issue! :D

Normal 1.5" that fit the UCA. I just used one half, and cut down the metal spacer thing. Once it's slid into the shock eye and bolted down it doesn't move at all. You could cut down two halves and have ears on both sides, but this works. I've had them that way for about a year, around 15K miles no issue.

I wonder if spraying the tubes with Line-X would work? I was watching a promotional vid where they spray everyday objects (eggs, plates, cinderblocks) with the product and then drop it off a second story roof... and they don't break. Seems like that would add quite a bit of density that might help with sound deadening... just a random thought though... could make it worse who knows haha

On another note, does anyone know if the TC upper arm and coil bucket gussets work on a first gen tundra? I think they do but not sure... Hoping to order them today if they do
Additionally does anyone make a truss for first gen tundra axles?

Badass! You bought that thing , looked like a great deal!

You have three options for a truss..

For one you get the Ruff stuff 8" one and trim it to fit ...
Second you can try this one which is your best bet!

Third Solo Makes a truss, not shown online for the tundra axle. Its around $100-200 I forgot. If you ask them they can get it for ya.

Don't forget Eric at relentless makes a sweet truss too. Jason is rocking it and someone got a modified version for a 2nd gen taco axle. I plan on running it on my t100 axle too

Might try that low range truss I posted I just called they said they made it for 8" but they have a tundra outside they are gonna mock up the truss to.

Awesome I'll give them a call today and see whats up with it.

I've read a few different things on welding on a truss. Some people jig the axle to prevent warping, some people run small short stitches alternating sides and just take their time. I've also heard things like leaving diff fluid in it to help cool, and also the opposite. Lot of information on them... any first hand experience?

Anyone know if the TC bucket and upper gussets fit? Otherwise I'll just have to make my own. Trying to get this thing beefy before the next meet.

I know Eric's truss is 180° on the axle so you just have to stich weld it and it keeps the axle from warping itself.
