THExBUSxDRIVER is also correct on how the rear limits you. The only problem is a mid travel setup for a 5 lug is not a lot cheaper then a LT setup so you may as well just go for the LT instead of having to up grade later.

ya i know what you guys mean, but the big difference between the two is that with the mid travel id still have the whole bed and with the full LT its lose some of the bed because id have the cage it correct?

i have only seen one full out LT truck in person before but i didnt really look at the truck too much cuz i was busy blabing about TW to the guy. so i didnt get a chance to check out the bed. With a caged bed will i lose alot of it? i just googled it and there was alot of different ones like alot of the bed is still useable and others where the bed is completely useless except for tires and a fuel cell haha.

    also have 2 more questions
    1. any suggestions on a good tire mostly DD but does amazing on the trails?

    2. what about a locker lsd? think its worth it?

They can take up as much or as little as you want it depends on how you want it setup. When I find the thread I'll link it. There is a thread on DR that has like 10 pages of bedcages. You will want to join over there. Way more info and you will be in the loop on new things coming out. There are only a few of us LT guys (Like 10-12 i think) here so the amount of knowledge is limited. And the vendors over there actually sell things that you will want and need for your LT setup.

I don't see an issue with running wheel spacers. I currently run them on the front of my truck do to my wheels rubbing on the caliper. I know of a few race trucks running wheel spacers on the rearend and they have never had an issue.

As the that TC 5lug hoop kit it requires spacers if I remember correctly

Yeas running them for awhile in the rear, I have never had a problem but some say stay away. I have the Spidertrax spacers and would only use those, lock tight them on and torque. Heard bad things about the all pro spacers.

ya it says that id need spacers but id honestly like to stay away if possible by correcting the O/S & B/S with the rim. im assuming that with the correct rim i wouldnt need spacers right??

lmao yup this is pretty much the truck that made me decide that this is what i really want.

There require a 1.5" wheel spacer for there hoop setup. I dont think you will find a wheel that that much less backspacing. If that make sense. Most tacoma wheels are a 4.5" back spacing from the factory so to find a wheel with 3" backspacing will be very hard to come by

    1. Go with some BFG All Terrains. They are pricey but definitely worth it. I am on my 4th set on this truck. I went through so many sets because I went from 265s to 285s to 315s etc.

However, I have been wanting to try out a set of the General Grabbers. :D

It is required for the rear LT kit from TC. Explained more below.

He will need the 'right' specs for the front so he has now rubbing issues, but once he has fiberglass fenders, having the 'right' specs should not be an issue.

Yes, you will need the spacers because the shock whoop will relocate the shock a few inches out from the stock position. TC will include new lower mount brackets for the shock that needs to be weld on (you can see the mount in the picture below). This is why you need 1.5" wheel spacers in the rear, so the shock does not rub the tires.

Here is a picture for reference from NakedTacoma LT rear setup.

Goodyear authority wranglers are pretty good, I run then and they do quite well for the price, with a tread pattern close to the toyo open country mt

after actually thinking about it that is something that i most likely find in a rim haha, so ill just end up goin with the spacers.

in all honesty i dont care much for the BFG A/T's i have a set on my 4runner and well i dont like em haha, and some of my other friends feel the same but i think that tire is just a hit or miss situation

as far as the generals go i have always wanted a set idk why, i guess its because i have always heard good things about them.

this makes much more since now with picture thanks

and last but not least ill def check out those tires i havent seen a set in person but ill research them and see what they are all about!

Check out Yokohama geolanders. A lot of guys I know run them in the sand and dirt and they perform well.
