1st gen 5 lug 2nd shock on TC?

So I know TC says you cant run a 2nd shock on the Taquito kit but lets be honest, anything is possible with enough drive and fabrication right?

So my question is, has anybody ever done this or know anybody who has? Just looking for some pics and such to go off of before we start hacking away at everything on my truck. I doubt its super difficult, more of a space issue but was just hoping somebody else has it done already. Trying to avoid selling the 1 year old kit for the JD Extreme kit right now....

Thanks

hmmm, good question. like you said, it cant be that hard.

stip off some powder coating on top of the lower arm, cutom shock hoop, weld on secondary shock tabs, paint all the new crap and rock the shit out of it

is space really that big of an issue w/ the 5-luggers?

Cj don't be a pussy.

Build a spindle using Dana hubs. Convert the lower to a uniball. Not like TC is gonna give you a warranty anyways.

Just add to the good influence I have been on you.

Waste of time.

1. You would need to build a new uca (possibly J-arm) to accommodate another shock and cycle the suspension so the shock clears.

2. If a shock is in place, the angle will be cockeyed and not work as it should.

3. After it's all set up, you still have a crappy lower ball joint that will need to be upgraded to a uniball and while you're at it, might as well build a whole new kit and spindle.

Synopsis; sure you can do it, but the time and effort to modify a design meant for one shock isn't worth it.

Thanks Alex. New front end it is

Didnt need much convincing to do that really. Probably will run TC another year or 2 at least then do something else.

Just give it some time and I'll have ESB's top of the line kit that runs 2 shocks inline and by that time I'm sure ESB will be back in business.

I keep my fingers crossed that Mike can make a come back. I would love to see him producing kits again.

He already has a re-designed 89-95 4x4 kit. But for now we're just doing prototypes and getting the jigs ready to build more.
