Hardly, 11 inches up front and 12 in the rear.
Also a raptor is an f150. A full size truck would be more like an f250 and up I would say.

Most people consider silverado's, f150, dodge ram, etc. a full size. A midsize would be tacoma, ranger, colorado etc. Then toyota pickup, 95-04 tacoma, older ranger, S10 would be considered a mini.

So if both are built adequately, which one is superior - a Tacoma or a full-size like that chevy???

That's hard to say. Toyota motors will hold up better though abuse I think. A chevy will be a hell of a lot faster. You can produce a lot of horse power out of the 5.3l cause its basically the same block as the LS series of motors. So if you were to say swap over heads or cam things along those lines you can produce cheap HP over building the toyota motor. Frame wise I would would say toyota frame is a little heftier but not much. I would recommend boxing/plating the frame with both trucks if not back halfing the trucks. Both trucks have there flaws don't get me wrong. But they about balance out I would think.

Remember 1 thing. I'm only 1 person so many others may have different thoughts. I don't know if other people have priced out both trucks. But Iv looked into building both. I have 01 Tacoma and my brother has an 05 Silverado. Iv looked into throwing the 5.3 into my Tacoma w/ Th400 trans once I blow my motor but then I have to look at the next weak link. Suspension, axle, etc.

If you plan to race a truck such as in score. I think its a truck that weighs over 5000 or 5500lbs requires a 2" roll cage. But many other organizations will allow 1.75" in a tacoma. They used to allow 1.5" but many are cracking down hard on that. If MDR can survive this hard impact there going through I know they use to allow a 1.5" cage.

Make sure you upgrade from the stock rear end... 1500's tend to grenade if you bash on it hard in the dezert!

dont know if your referring to 2000-06 or 07+

But here is a older tundra running the current tundra 5.7. I-beams, linked and 37" tires.

You ever think you would see a tundra nerf a trophy truck at 90mph right before a jump??

That's hardcore! What about for 07+? I know Total Chaos make a kit, but it doesn't seem that impressive.

It may be just me. But if I was spending 30k+ on a truck i would have a very hard time building it. I know camburg makes a kit for the 07+ tundras as well. Plus if you have the money to build an 07+ I wouldn't be wasting my time and money with camburg or TC. I would go straight to BMS or Richer Racing, Etc. There was 1 tundra I saw a build for on DR. I'll see if I can find the build thread to link it over.

For as die hard of a Toyota fan I am. I will agree when it comes to a built toy/offroad truck.

    Older Tacoma's
    Older Tundra's
    00+ Silverado's
    Ranger's

Look the best in my opinion when built.
