Good reference. I am a geotechnical engineer who deals with sands for a living, among other things. From my point of view sand is not sand. Partical size varies quite a bit as well as angularity. An angular sand is going to offer much greater resistance than a sub rounded or rounded sand.

Being in New England I don't drive on sand much so I don't know how noticeable the differences are while driving.

Guess I just wanted to fan the fire!

you go to glamis? dune in the big dunes? dune to china wall? or stay on sand highway/pismo. big differnce in what you want to do.

i have only been stuck once in the middle of the night duning through the big dunes with only stock lights and all stock truck.
