Fiberglass fender mud blocks?

Hey all, I just got some fiberwerx fender and really like them!

But I'm curious what you have all done to keep mud and dirt from getting in the door and up in the top of the fenders.

 

i don't bother... i haven't washed my truck in over a year... i just hose it off and hope for the best... hahaha...

 

Ya I'm just worried cause the mud out here is like super glue..not kidding. It sucks.

I have seen some picks of ppl putting like mud flaps up in there, just wanting to now how to bolt them in..

Cut out some pieces that fit (easier in sections), rivet them together and the the inside rivets go through the pieces and core support. The outer part rests on the lip of the fender so it cant fall down but bent in an arc like that they are pretty stiff. I made mine just for the air cleaner inlet, the driver side is open and fills the door with mud

So you riveted mud flaps together cut them to the right width. How did you bolt them to the truck?

The ones circled go through the sheet metal core support into the engine bay. I used rivets so it was smooth on both sides except the very front one is a bolt so I could change bulbs if needed for my lights

 

that looks great.. probably too late for my truck though...

 

You could buy sheet plastic too.

i hate mud and try to avoid it, but after every trip i just get the power washer and go to town

 

I do too. But still just dirt in general I'd like to keep out. I don't own a power washer

 

yes. lol just put some duct tape in there and call it good. Redneck engineering ftw.

 

o well i go to buggy wash or any local do it urself washer with a power wash. anyway i know in jeeps they get those foam noodles kids use in pools, they cut it to the correct length and stuff it in there fender well and it fits perfectly for them. it might be worth a shot

 

Ha that's an interesting idea..

 

granet jeep guys will drill the center of 3 hockey pucks and make it there bumpstop... anyways it could work, get the noodle, cut her down and rattle can it black. it should seal your door off haha

 

Ya I can se how it would work. I don't like it as much as the mud flap idea..but for the door part it might work best there

 

true but the noodles is a cheap 5 minute fix. just threw the idea out there, im sure if u put time into it u can make something much better
