Right on. So say a 30° angle, would give it more travel?

Is there any particular reason that most long travel guys use King instead of Fox? Or is all preference?

Most people who have owned both just tend to prefer king. They are the gold standard and easier to work with then fox. I know guys on here that tried hard to use fox but fox wouldn't work with them and set up a set of c/I'd for what they needed so they had to use king, which I highly doubt they regret. King is also good about helping with tuning if you purchase you stuff thru them

^ This, and when I did my rear LT, Fox 16" bypasses were cheaper than the Kings. My bypasses don't click when going over bumps when compared to Kings. lolz

Four linking my truck on Tuesday, and I still haven't decided if I want to keep my bed or not. Was considering doing a setup similar to @89ztrain, but removing the composite bed and welding in a lightweight platform behind the wheel to sit/strap stuff on. I have McNeil 4" bedsides on the way, so I'd be adding some mounting locations in. The main reason for wanting to remove it is because I'm welding in the bed cage, and I don't want to fight with cutting the composite out down the road if I ever need to do any rust prevention or access the frame for repairs. I'm putting the fuel cell under the spare with a battery box beside it and plating the frame while I'm in there.

If I remove the composite, other than getting debris/mud everywhere, what other issues should I expect?

Not much. my bedcage is welded on and have done it to many trucks. No issues to forsee needing to take the bed off. I never have to take mine off. You can still get in from the bottom. The only thing I see is working on the fuel system but in all cases the fuel tanks are removable for service. If you really wanted with a little more work could make it bolt on using interlocking tube clamps which are super heavy duty.
