lift choice problems

Live in nh and up here we have all the weather elements and every kind of terrain except obv dunes I've been looking into a tc 3.5 Lt kit but no one up here ha anything like it any know how they perform if you get into rock. I've searched all over this site and can't figure this out any info would help or is there a different route I should take?

I know but total chaos makes a +3.5 Lt kit. I just don't wanna spend 5+ grand to find out long travel suspension sucks in rocky conditions. I'd like to a straight axle conversion but it'll ride like hell and will suck driving. Not to many people up here run ifs

That kit does very well in the rocks and areas that require a lot of articulation. This being the wider wheel base with the kit adds stability as well as travel numbers. The biggest thing to consider is will there be any areas that would be too tight for the width with that kit? Thats why myself and quite a few other guys on the forum went with the TC 2" LT kit. Plus they just released their new 2" race kit which gives you 2-3" more ground clearance at the lower arm.

Thanks I was hoping for an answer like that. the +3.5 kit wouldn't really be much wider than a 1 ton Chevy axle or so I hope I'm gonna look that up but most people run 1 tons up here. I just didn't know if that kit being extended so much if the arms were prone to bending I tend to off road pretty hard sometimes.

Super duty with axle is 79.0 and a Tacoma front end is 74.5. With the back spacing on the wheel that is need to run will that make it wider? How much? I'll look at that race kit.

Wheel backspacing won't make a huge difference at that point. Unless you're going with like 14" wide wheels.....

Those TC arms won't break, they're going to be stronger and more durable than factory. Plus you can get the aluminum skid plates TC offers which would be a very smart idea.

All in all, I think you've got the right idea going with the TC kit, it's going to allow you to keep up with the guys with front and rear solid axles in the rocks, and blow past them in pretty much any moderate to high speed situation.
