upper ball joint Camburg LT kit

I have an 04 toyota tacoma with the burg kit. I was wondering if the upper ball joint was pressed into the spindle or was not pressed into the spindle? I can't remember because it was so long ago when my buddy and I installed the kit.
This weekend my friend and I are going to replace my spindles and I don't remember if the upper ball joint was suppose to be pressed in or not.


I have a feeling that it wasn't pressed in, but I can't exactly remember.

 

if its anything like my spindles and uca setup its not pressed, just uses a bolt and nut. you losen the nut and the bolt pops right out

So I asked this same question on TTORA and two people replied that I am going to have to press the ball joint out. Anyone else have any thoughts on this question?

Could I possibly use a ball joint press that I could pick up from napa or autozone?

Lol well it makes a difference. Yes a ball joint needs pressed out. No you your uniballs do not need pressed out to come APART. But if you want that piece out of the spindle, that is the slug (is the lower misalignment spacer) that IS pressed into the spindle. So for replacing your spindle you will need to press out that slug and press it back into your new spindle.

 

Its this piece here. It is pressed into the spindle and that is a snap ring on the top of the spindle in your picture holding the slug in place
