Just today, purchased a 250A alt. from Bill. I'll take pics when it arrives. I didn't order a kit, just the alt., as I have enough 1/0 wire laying around from past stereo installs that the alt. was all I needed for my stereo. Can't wait to get my new part, and have it installed.

Got my 250A alternator today. Bill had it direct shipped to me from the manufacturer, and they used Priority post. Pretty fast shipping too. I sent payment last Thursday, and the following Thursday, I have it in my hands.

Packed well

And here it is, in all it's 250A glory!

Picking up a new serp belt today, and install goes tomorrow. It looks like, with all the 4x4 stuff underneath, that this will be from the top, so I'll take pics along the way, and show how it works.

*edit* Just went out and picked up a Goodyear Gatorback serp. belt, so I have everything I need to get this bad boy in the truck tomorrow, and finally turn up the tunes again!

I'm sure its been asked, but do these alternators fit the 2.7?

Edit: read through the thread and see the 4cyl are obtainable.

Quoting myself from my thread (battery inside DC Tacoma) for reference:

What info do you need to start estimating pricing? I'm trying to figure out what I can afford to do before Overland Expo East.

Well mainly I will need you to figure out where you will be running the cables. There are several drain plugs that you can cut out for running the cables. What I do most of the time is to take a smaller, 12 or 16 gauge wire and "loosely" route where the cables will travel (ground and power) and then measure how long THAT cable is, and it will give us an idea. I plan to build yours with a little extra length. That way if you have a few inches too much, you can always slightly alter the routing. I would rather a cable be 6 inches too long, than 6 inches too short! (yeah, yeah, that's what she said!) I may actually be up in that area this week. Not 100% sure. My brother lives right there in Alpharetta off Old Alabama and Haynes Bridge road. If I come up, perhaps I could stop by and we can discuss the details?

That would be great - we live about 5 minutes away from there.

Bill, I like your idea. I want to have a bed plug for my 2007 4WD Tacoma Access Cab SR5 so I can charge a Bosch hammer drill on climbing trips. Once I get a couple other maintenance things squared away, figure out where and how much capacity for the inverter and calculate loads, you'll get on the call list.

No problem! And if you need a larger gauge cable for an inverter located in the back, we can get that set up for you as well!
