It looks like 3 or 4 connections, what gauge are they?

  • Heavy-duty 2 gauge primary cables for starter and vehicle grounds using welding cable with over 2000 strands of copper.
  • Heavy-duty 4 gauge alternator cable, and vehicle power cable made of the same welding cable style, with over 1000 strands of copper.
  • Heavy-duty 4 gauge power point draw with 130A fuse
  • Performance Stereo 8 gauge wire for body ground
  • Instructions on installation
I have a couple of questions:

  1. The 4 AWG power point draw with 130A fuse. This is what a aux fuse block, such as my Blue Sea aux fuse block, would be connected to, correct? Is the cable length fixed, or can the length be customized to accommodate the specific location of the aux fuse block?
  2. Are the starter, vehicle ground and alternator cables long enough to reach the main posts on a Die Hard Platinum Group 31M battery as shown in this photo? (not my photo or truck, I just grabbed it from another thread for illustration).
  3. Are the 200A and 250A alternators Toyota OEM Denso units that have been upgraded to 200A or 250A? Looking for the same quality as the Denso OEM alternator, and wondering about these. Photo?
  4. Can you provide a photo of the finished Stage 1 assembly sitting on a table so we can visualize the various cables?
Thanks for offering this package!

The largest connection can fit 2 or 0 gauge cables. It might be able to fit larger, but I have not built one with anything bigger than 2 gauge. Then there is a 4 gauge connection, and two 6-8 gauge connections. There are adapters available if there are more connections needed. The price to be adjusted accordingly. I can build just about any power draw system.

Thanks for your interest.

1. The 150A power point can be built to any length. It is used for powering things such as a Blue Sea or similar fuse block, as well as a power point for car stereo applications that require a large fuse.

2. Since these are custom built to order, the cable lengths can be adjusted accordingly to fit any post location.

3. Yes, the alternators are Nippindenso alternators that have been completely rebuilt, and the core parts upgraded. Many high output alternators only replace the stator for the higher output. These replace the stator AND the field coil as well. If you check my 1st gen kits there are photos similar to what they look like. I do not have a 2nd gen alternator at the shop to give you an exact picture of one of them since these kits are made-to-order. When I get my next kit built for the 2nd gen I will post photos of that kit. In general everything is identical to the ones I build for the 1st gen.

If anyone has any other questions feel free to post them up. I will be happy to answer them.

I'm pretty sure I want to get one of these in the future, but I'm not exactly sure what for. We'll be adding some front (driving) and side/rear (camping, packing/unpacking) LEDs at some point, but I'm mostly putting it all off because I know nothing about electrical and it all makes me nervous.

Its much harder to screw up something that only involves a wrench, hammer, pliers or socket.

You can install this kit with a wrench, pliers, sockets, and a hammer.

Hmmmm. I may offer you a killer deal on the kit and install if you bring my RTT to me when they arrive....

Its not the kit I'm worried about installing, its all the stuff that would require having it in the first place.

That is correct! I will tell you that you still will have some engine bogging with the 200A alternator. The average winch draws upwards of 400 amps under load. The difference will be that more of the power draw with the winch will come from the alternator, and less from the battery. At 400 amps you are drawing (at idle) 70 amps from the alternator and 330 from the battery. With this kit you would be drawing about 120 amps from the alternator, and 280 amps from the battery.

Yes we do offer a 4 Cyl kit. Same price as the V6 because the starters are in the same location.
