I had some, but for some reason when I uploaded them they were distorted. I will have to take more on the current build.

I just coughed up the dough for mine. I will post pics when I am done install. Going with the 200a alternator, ATO dual battery tray, and Optima Yellows. Should be decent. Then I'll finally feel comfortable getting my winch and bumper.

Had a bad experience with an old Geo Tracker. Stuck in the mud at about 2 am, trying to winch a friend to me and get one of us out. Had the whole site lit up with PIAA lamps at the same time. Alternator died, vehicle died. Turned an afternoon drive into a camping trip. Electrical upgrades are definitely worth it.

Yeah, with this system I am building, if your winch battery dies while winching out, you will still be able to start your truck with primary battery. If your primary battery dies because you left your headlights on or something, then one flip of the switch and you can jump yourself off!

None too soon. Just ordered my winch bumper and hopefully will have an order in for a Warn 9.5xp within a day or two. I'll have a full truck weekend in a few weeks. Pumped!

Just a little pre-notice, I am working on the Stage 4 and Stage 5 upgrades as we speak. A custom build for a customer is in the works and I will have pictures when it is completed. The Stage 4 is all of the components for a Stage 2, with an addition of a setup to include dual batteries, an isolator to keep them separate, and a solenoid system to allow the vehicle to jump start itself with a flip of a switch! The Stage 5 will include a 100W solar charging system.

I'll be grabbing this down the road for sure. I want to be able to run my repeater in my truck for extended periods of high use without it dying. I use it quite a bit for search and rescue.

Kyle, what kind of current draw does the repeater draw? You will need to tailor the solar charging system to match expected draw. Might need more than just 100Watts.

I think I'll be ok. I run a HAM mobile unit, that does cross-band repeat. So it is only outputting at 50 watts. I think my auxillary Optima battery by itself would nearly power the repeater for one operational period (8-10 hours). But as there is no guarantee that the battery is 100% charged at the start and that I won't have other devices charging in my truck, the 100 watt solar system would mostly be insurance that I didn't lose comms before I am finished. It'd also be nice to get back to my truck and not have the battery dead every time. I'm sure that would shorten it's life span and it'd be nice to have in juice in the aux, in case I need the winch on my trip out of whatever area I am in.

Sub for a sweet kit. I haven't really had a problem so far with battery drain, my problem tends to be wallet drain. Damn you Tacoma World for pointing out how inferior my superior truck is. Can't wait to see this Stage 5 kit. Keep up the good work good sir!

The Stage 5 Kit is being built right now. Sadly there are a few things I have noticed that I need to change in the design, and this has increased my cost for the first build. The first one is going to end up costing me more than I am selling it for, but hey, that is the cost of building something new! Once I get the first one finished I can get an idea of what can be done to keep cost down, so my price can remain competitive. I also have a customer who owns an FJ Cruiser that is stopping by next week to get a Stage 4 Kit installed on HIS truck. That one will be a custom build, on-site as I don't have an FJ Cruiser that I can use for mock-ups.

Stage 5 kit? I didn't know you were past the 2nd yet.
I think it might be time to update the first page of this awesomeness so people know.

Stage 1,2, and 3 have been available since the beginning. Don't sell many of the 3 because it is just adding an Optima to the Stage 2, and most people already have their batteries. As for the Stage 4 and 5 Kits, they are still in pre-production, and I will have to get one installed and tested/inspected before I can offer them mass produced. Hence the reason they are not listed in the OP. But eventually I will get there!

Are you planning on a dual battery kit at all? I'm planning on going stage 2 with the 250 alternator but I think a 2nd battery couldn't hurt, I just have no idea how to get it all to work together.
For me I would rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it.

You're probably looking at the Stage 5 kit he is working on at the moment. That's what I have going on, except I only went up to the 200a alternator, with two Optima Yellowtop Group 34s.

Exactly. Working on all of that now. It will be set up for dual batteries, using the customer's battery tray from Armortech's dual battery tray. The FJ is going a different route, with having the second battery installed behind the air intake box on the passenger's side, hence the need for it to be custom built, on site, since I don't have the exact measurements. I really think this is going to look bad AZZ when I get done. Lol. New company name "Bad AZZ Off Road Products"! BARP! lmfao.

Nice. So what is the best way to run 2 batteries? Have them separate from each other, like one for the truck and one for the accessories, or both together running everything?
