I was looking through the 2005 -2015 Tacoma Safari Snorkel thread and I notice a pic of your Taco that you have a Softopper and maybe looks like you also have a rack over the topper? if so is that rack custom made or does somebody make that? could you DM me some pics of your set up?

      thanks in advance!

Does the OME you are selling provide any lift? I am wanting to get a lift in the next few mos and saw you have it for $500 shipped.

Yes, this will provide a lift. It will give you about 2.8" - 3" up front. If you interested please send me your City & Zip. Thanks for the question..!!

I looked on their site and they posted a 50mm of lift which comes to about 2" I have read nothing but great things about old man emu. I know someone who put this on his Jeep Wrangler YJ. I had to go with a cheaper one for my YJ, a Rubicon Express suspension lift because the old man emu was too expensive for my budget :) Is this the same or similar set up as the one another guy is selling on the buy/sell section?

Old Man Emu is an excellent kit, I've had them an almost all my 4x4. My truck sits at 2.8" with the ARB winch and skids. I'm not sure who else selling OME but they only have 3 different springs and 2 deferent struts for the Tacoma. My kit includes what you see on my post.

3.) my intent is really just to make it look more like a properly stanced truck and less like a limo. Was looking into 275s also but they weight the same as the 34s, so probably same hit on mpg. I did get out in my FJ45 last week though, first time after "assemblying it" - realize I need to get anti-inversion shackles now though!

Got you..!! Yeah I think 34" my get heavy on the wallet. Good luck, and that FJ45 sounds amazing..!!

you too! that 45 is another reason to get good gas mileage. Old hard to find parts are expensive, luckily when you find them things are fairly simple once you get the mental farts out.

        - catch you around in the future

      2) - might not even look into when you talk about 15 mpg! she's only got 4K miles on her and with the commute, young child, single father situation I don't need to build something I can't really use that much. nevermind that its flat and land seems very restricted here so far.

nah, i wish it was manual. almost held out for the 2016 to get a dclb 6 cyl manual. feared the price would go up for 2016 and bought one of the last available 2015 dclbs around here. I was thinking of trying to put them on the stockers, didn't get around to checking if that would work yet though.

well, that makes that decision. i can't justify 1500 miles a month at 15 mpg, and the purchase price of a commuter car doesn't really offset that. Guess I'll be stuck reading your build thread for the unforeseen future. well done by the way. and thanks for taking the time to provide info.

No problem Sir, were you thinking of doing the 34" on steel rims..? is your truck a manual tran..? thing is you may get better MPG with manual.

ever try driving like an old man just for kicks, and more so to see what you can get? I'm wondering if I can get 17 highway with 34X10.5 no armor or other weight....

      thanks for the response too.

I haven't, but I would say no armor maybe 15mpg. When I was running the 285 I was closer to 15mpg, thing is the 34" are almost 1" taller and the steel wheels ad weight as well.

Hey bud, around 13mpg - 14mpg I kind of drive like a Dick tho. So should get a bit better if I wasn't so hard on the skin pedal.
