    I figured that is what you meant, just wasn't sure. I like the OME kits with the front diff drop. I mess with RC cars, and everything works better when the dogbones are as level as possible, so I would want to drop the diff before dropping the carrier bearing to keep the front shafts as straight as possible.

    I was looking at Leer shells, but then I would need to beef up the rear suspension to handle it, which would result in rake unless I raised the front, and then I would want bigger tires, and then I would NEED the shell because that is where I would be living. One of my dogs got sick and made me blow that budget anyway, so I am safe for now. Probably saved my marriage, LOL.

    Welcome, Beaker!

    OME doesn't make a diff drop for 2nd Gens

    They don't come from OME directly, but the ToyTec kit comes with one: Some other kits come with the CB drop. Any input on which is better?

    General concensus is that diff drops are not beneficial for 2nd gens , there is a big thread , I'll have a look for it

    CB drops help with the driveshaft angles

    Wow, thanks, I am convinced. I was more concerned with the efficiency of the front driveline than the CV boots, but a completely broken machine has zero efficiency.

    I am sold on the OME kit, I'm just not sure I want to stray from stock until I need to start replacing stuff. My main issue is that I want a shell for camping, and I am pretty sure I won't be happy with the stock rear suspension if I drop one on. And then all those other things will happen, as I stated above.

    I have the OME 885x and Dakars paired with a Leer 100RCC commercial cap

    If you're interested in seeing or feeling the OME kit in person on a truck identical to yours before you make a decision, drop me a PM. Happy to meet up sometime.

    @TenBeers

    You could also do Timbrens or Ride Rites for your cap without lifting

    Pretty much the setup I am looking for, 885's, Dakaars, and a 100XL. Not sure on tires yet, but thinking just the BFG AT's in 265/75/16 will do fine.

    Cool, thanks, Jeff, will do. Like I mentioned, vet bills put a huge dent in my mod budget for the time being. If you mountain bike, I am out somwhere just about every weekend out in the far West County area (sometimes over in St Charles county).

    I wish I could say I got out to bike every weekend :( I've got a little one, so typically when it gets colder she's not interested in riding in the trailer, therefore my wife and I don't get to go biking. Hate watching my nice new bike collect dust...

    Maybe I'll catch up with you on the trails in the spring :D

    I had duratracs on my last truck and they were awesome. I was at 33000 mi and they still had an ample amount of tread left. I'd recommend taking a look at those vs. the bfg.

    Nada mucho here. Picked up some new PIAAs for an in-progress custom light bar. Looking forward to having it done and on the truck!

    Me too! :D Don't have the skills or equipment to do it myself, so I'm actually having it fabricated, largely because I couldn't find anything on the market I liked and I wanted something unique. Hoping it will be done in the next month or so.
