Welcome, I am not sure of any shops over that direction. I know we have Lenger Racing over here in Grand Rapids. Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want to get done.

Welcome to TW. The closest shops to you I know of are in Grand Rapids but the one I would recomend is Lenger racing. They have helped me out on my build.

Can probably have better luck finiding a shop closer to you here:

My friend has a front end shop here in Bay City that does all my suspension work I don't want to do (most of it! No garage).

There are a couple other shops here that do all the other stuff.

    What dealer you going through?

How's it going? I'll be moving to Lansing in April. Can you guys give me the run down on what to expect? Good shops, Toyota dealers etc..... My wife grew up there but she won't be able to give me any worthwhile information. I am moving from Oceanside, Ca so I am sure that I am in for a shock. Thanks in advance for any information. I look forward to meeting some of y'all there and maybe hit some trails. Thanks

Houses are a hell of a lot cheaper here! I got some friends that moved here from Orange Co. for that reason!

Its a while different terrain. There are several good off-road parks within a couple-hour drive of Lansing (if not less). If you like camping, there is a lot of area for that along with trail-riding/exploring in the Upper Peninsula (my favorite part of the state). We have a pretty good group (from all over) at the UP Overland forums. There is also a ton of info on where to go and such there.

About the only place that may remind you of home is Silver Lake Sand Dunes on the west side of the state if that is your cup of tea. Its probably about 1/1000th this size of Glamis.

Hello and congrats! Haha just kidding. You will enjoy nice cold winters and hot humid summers. Rattler was pretty much spot on though. Good amount of mountain biking available.

I've spent quite a bit of time over the last few months in San Jose CA. So I know that you will enjoy open roadways as far as traffic goes.

Thanks for the info fellas. I'm looking forward to getting there. Not so much the cold but I guess I'll just have to get used to it. MI4X4Toy, I see that you have a motorcycle. Are there any good twisty roads to ride? I have a sport bike myself. Maybe we can meet up and go riding. Thanks again fellas.

Yes as a matter of fact there are some decent roads around west michigan. There is a really awesome group of riders here in the grand rapids area that I ride with. The TwistiesJust here are enough to entertain but not really challenge. Close by road course available though! What do you ride?

Gingerman or Grattan? I did a couple test & tune nights at Gingerman when I had my WRX. That was a blast! Especially after a ride around with someone that has done a lot of them.

So Matt bring your bike, and then have Tara bring the FR-S so mine can have some company :p

I'll stick to the FR-S. I'm still a little intimidated to be going at it on a track with the bike yet...maybe the 250 but not my 600.

Sounds like I need a track car. I was on that path a while ago but decided it wasn't any fun to run laps by yourself.

I always enjoyed auto cross even when I went not knowing anyone. It's a darn good time. Everyone should do it to better their motor skills when slick days like today come along.

Sorry I meant that I dont enjoy racing a clock, I like to go head to head. Thats when I got more serious about MX, where I can bang bars and make passes. Maybe the ocasional nerf on accident of course.

BTW now that there's snow how about another trail run? I wouldn't mind hitting up yankee springs and checking it out. Probably still no truck for me but probably be a few of us from my way. Just need to fix a few trucks first.
