If you want to PM me your name and phone number and if we do another random get together i can send you a text so you dont miss out.

Lets have the next meet on the 17th for sure anybody have any ideas on a place to meet up for breakfast and then we can head out and explore? Its gonna suck but i figured if we meet up early and over breakfast we can decide on an area to go check out so if we meet at like 8 a.m. and we can leave by 10 a.m. that way if some people want to sleep in they can skip breakfast and just meet up before we leave.

Like i said i am open to places to meet up at in morning so if some one knows of a good place to eat we can go there.

Also lets get some ideas together for where we wanna head out to.

I don't know how far everyone is willing to drive, but I know that there are some spots near Emporia but that's kinda far. I'd rather stay closer. But as we saw yesterday the closest roads are a little far.

@Scottm2010 Nice pics! Looks like a fun day.

Emporia Is a bit far, so would require an early morning and take up most of the day. If we plan it, I'm could join.

Has anyone heard from Kansas Rocks? I've emailed them about their Off Roading 101 course to make sure it's open for trucks (not just Jeeps), but I haven't heard anything from them.

I'll monitor this thread while I'm home... Hopefully y'all scratch something together so I can check out some neato trucks. Not sure how much wheeling the Buick I'm currently rolling in is up to, but I'm content co-piloting if someone wants one

If we wanna head out to emporia we can meet early and roll out. It's only like a two hour ride according to my gps. I am fine with that. Like I said I am open to anything.

Yeah, trucks can go down there too. It's a fun park, it would be fun to get a group to go sometime in the spring maybe. They close for a couple months at the beginning of the year. I'm pretty sure they open in February during Frostbite.

According to their website they are open year round, as long as the weather cooperates, but will be closed for a couple of weeks in Feb. I went there in Dec before, right after I bought my truck and checked it out. There are plenty of trails for all type rigs and skill level. I'd be up for a run down there.

That's where I'm from, what spots are you talking about?

EDIT: Looks like John Redmond or Melvern Lake

Well what I was thinking was more just back roads driving. They have the Dirty Kanza event out there and the Jeep Club group I am with helps so I have all the maps and stuff. But if anyone else has a better idea I'm all ears. I think we are all game just for getting together and getting out.

I like the back roads drive idea, always something to get into for those feeling froggy on good back road drives. You have any place specific in mind or are these maps you have for emporia?

I went through emporia yesterday for work and the back roads I could see from the highway looked fun.

Also how many of you have a CB radio? I am ordering a new antenna braket for mine so I'll have mine working for the next meet.

No, a guy in orlando had one that I used and to be honest it didn't make a difference. Probably user error but my new antenna you can't adjust. I am just gonna ground it good and be done.

Also they got that one radio at wal mart that is small and cheap and there is a truck stop in Kansas City so you can get the cable and antenna there and they have a big selection

I'll try and just switch mine from the Jeep to the Truck for the next get together.

It's really easy, it's two wires for the radio and run the wire for the antenna. If you don't want to hard wire it go to radio shack and get a 12v cig lighter plug and use that to power it when you want it. If you need a hand to install it I can help out.

Well if you come out to the meet you can see how mine is set up. Can't see any wires with mine but where I have it mounted you might not like. Almost everything I do to much truck you can put back to stock that's how I do thing when it comes to my cars.
