Alright...I'm to the point where I'm getting pissed. I've been on this sight long enough to see quite a few trucks, as well as TTORA. I have eibachs and billies. I see people talking about "first setting", "second setting", and so on. I don't have these "settings . I assume the 2nd Gen coil overs do?

On to my second issue. Rake....its horrible, I hate rake. My preference, but I hate it. When I first lifted the truck the springs were compressed like half way up the threads, which lifted the front like 5 inches obviously cause cv's to not only cry out in misery, but the boots ripped and I replaced them. My fault I know, should have measured before and after and set them. I get that. So I adjusted the coilover down to a measurement of 24.5 from center of hub to bottom of fender and the relieved the CV joints and made the boots happy. However now I have considerable rake. The lock washer on the bottom of the coilover is loose, honestly so that they can settle down to 23 inches as I was told that is the measurement for a three inch lift.

Now when I look at my truck, it doesn't look like the other trucks pictured on these sites. It doesn't look lifted. (285's for tires). I dunno, maybe I'm making more of this than I should, but my mind races through some concerns. 1). Since I have it higher than 3 inches, when I use 4x4 will the cv's explode? Will the transfer case? But, man my truck doesn't look lifted as high as other guys with the same setup.
2). Do I even have this shit setup right? Did I install everything correctly? Yeah I did, I followed build pages to a "T". I know I did. So, any chance one of you guys wanna meet up and rake a look at this thing?

    Do you have any pictures?

I had a second gen and I am confused as to how you lifted you truck. What is the set up in the front/rear? Have you dont a front diff. drop? Rear diff shims? Drive shaft drop?

I'd be happy to take a look as I did a lot of research when I lifted my 2nd gen, but I am not all that experienced with the options on the 1st gen lifts.

Billie 5100's all away around. Eibachs for springs. Deaver AAL in the back. No diff drop, no shims. Just an alignment. Recently had the tires rotated, and now I'm getting wobble in the steering wheel when going over 40mph. Frusty!!!!

What setting do you have your 5100's in the front set at? What Eibach springs do you have?

You might need to get a front diff. drop depending on how much lift you actually have.

Did you get a vibs after the lift?

A drive shaft drop/diff shims might be needed.

When I first lifted it and it was entirely too high for cv's it didn't shimey shake or wobble until the boots ripped. Now that I've lowered it, the stance is off and I get wobbles. So many people say that diff drops are pointless.

I guess it really depends on how much lift you really have... and not knowing exactly how much lift you have or the type of spring or the settings your 5100's are set at makes it a little hard to pinpoint what you really need to do. I know with my second gen i had to get lifted specs for the alignment to be done correctly. I took it to the same place 3 times and they couldn't do it, the second place, tire discounters was the only place that could do it correctly.

I'm pretty sure the Eibachs are a 650lb spring.

Where did you get your Eibachs from? They should provide 3 inches of lift alone. Then the 5100s there should be 4 notches in the shock body. 1st notch no lift, 2nd .85 inches, 3rd notch 1.5 inches, and 4th notch 2.5 inches. With the Eibach spings I wouldn't go more than the 2nd notch and after settling you should be at about 3.5 inches of lift in the front. As far as your rear lift with having an add a leaf you most likely will only get 2.5 inches of lift and will sag considerably over time. You will always have rake when you get an add a leaf. You are lifting the rear with only one leaf spring. I have the all pro offroad 3 inch lift rear springs and would recommend them to anyone. A friend of mine put the OME Dakars on the rear of his 1st gen and it rides like stock while giving 2.5 inches of lift in the rear.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

I had the OME Dakars and loved the lift, strenght they gave as the AAL that I put on started to sag after 6 months.

Your 5100's in the front should have 4 different notches that the spring seat sits on, and that is what the spring sits on giving you the different lift. I dont think you will be able to see the notches on the 5100's while on your truck, esp if you are set at the factory ride height.

As far as the wobble you are getting can you feel it in the gas pedal when you are accellerating or is it consistant when you are above 40 and never goes away? If you get either or both of this a carrier bearing drop should fix that. The likely reason is from a driveshaft that does not have the correct angles. The Beefed Taco carrier bearing drops work wonders but take about 3 weeks to get to you.
