unpaved roads in NW Chicagoland?

I live in Elgin.. I just changed my diff and transfer case fluids and now I'm trying to find a stretch of dirty road where I can do some extended driving in 4x4.. WTF.. midwest freakin' sucks! I'm scouring for dirt roads on google map and find nothing!

Any pointers?

google does not do well with township roads. We used to have a short stretch over in dekalb county, but that got graveled last year. Pretty much everything N of 88 and E of 39 is at least graveled. If you go down to Lasalle county though, i think theres a few down there, but in northern IL, very few roads are still dirt. they either got decommssioned and turned back to private property or graveled. Central and southern IL though, they are still around.

 

Yeah im central Illinois over by peoria, I've came accross a few real good dirt roads not on private property and looks like they only get use by tracters and 4x4's

 

Have you been out buy the landfill off route 8 near Peoria there's a good dirt road that runs between the landfill on Cottonwood rd and near Hanna city its called Murphy road
Heres a old picture of my 95 tacoma on that road I have had some good times out there just ask a few of the girls I've dated lol.
