Use 6 month old gas?

    I'll be getting home soon after a 6 month deployment and was wondering how the old gas will work if I put some stabil fuel stabilzer in the tank before I left. The truck has been started or driven every couple weeks, but the tank will be mostly full.

    Anyone had problems using the gas they left in the tank for that long?

    bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
    Six months with Stabil should be fine...I just had to pump out two tanks on some of my old trucks that had two years old gas and caused a terrible low speed miss.

    For my equipment that is used seasonally, I put in ethonal free gas and marine grade stabil prior to storage, or I drain the tank.

    How much of a tank is left? If not much you can probably fill it up with new to dilute the old.

    Should be ok. If anything, add a bottle of octane booster or seafoam.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    the fuel will be fine since you added the stabilizer. I did this back in 02-03 when i left for 6 months and it cranked right up and drove fine throughout the tank. no issues.

    It has 3/4 tank now. I think I'll just use what's left and see how it goes. I think it'll be fine.

    I used the tank of "old" gas and 1.5 tanks after that and the truck runs great. Looks like I was worrying for nothing.
