Any Seabees, need your input!!!

I am looking at possibly converting to CE from my current rate of AE. Would like some input of some current or former seabees to tell me what i'm getting into. I would like to know about what the day to day is and also what deployments are like. I've done about seven years in the navy so far and am a bit tired of how the aviation community operates. Its just once you make E6, you are pretty much put behind a desk to do paperwork all day and I don't want to go that route. I just feel that if i join the Seabee community, i can have a better sense of purpose in the Navy, be able to work outside for pretty much the remainder of my naval career, continue with a physically challenging job and see places that i wouldn't be able to on the aviation side. I would like honest opinions about the job itself and the community as a whole, as i've heard Seabees are tightknit. Thanks!!
