Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. -John 15:13 (NIV)

Remember and give thanks to the men and woman who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Celebrate this Memorial Day, but honor those who have fallen, and have allowed you the freedom that you enjoy today.

    Thank you.

Lord, please watch and Bless the families of those who gave thier lives for this country. Please watch and protect those currently serving this great Nation, and let us not forget the sacrifices made by these People for our security.

Today is the day to take time to recognize these Heros that have died protecting civilians, be it whatever capacity their roll in the armed forces was. These people volunteered for this job, knowing that they may have to lay down their lives for us. Think about that for a min.......Someone you never heard of before has died defending people He/She never even knew. I thank each and every person in the Armed Forces for their service. And I say a special prayer for those who have died in this line of service.

So glad to see this thread. It should be stickified for all to see when people visit the Military forum.

I also wanted to say thanks to every one of you currently and previously in any branch of the military! My brother's Army, deploying for his first tour in Afghanistan soon and it's really made me contemplate just how much y'all and your families endure and sacrifice for us. So, thank you.
