I tend to agree with this... given recent events, it is sort of ironic that someone with a screen name 'killer' is asking about full body armor and referencing the CO event.

I don't know the OP and I'm not trying to mount a personal attack or even infer that he is unstable. He could be the nicest guy I'd ever meet but, you have to admit that it is sort of strange...

Strange yes but look at his previous post. Lots here have odd screen names. And I didn't name a specific person as being a prick, if the shoe fits wear it. You made 2 assumptions in this thread, and you know what they say about those.

I'm not the only member that sees more comments as attacks on a persons thoughts or like/dislikes as opposed to answering the question or simply moving on.

He never said he was going to wear it around. He indicated that it was a"just in case" preparation. To me, that means that if things go to shit in a big way, he would be prepared. Not much different than people stockpiling ammo, weapons and food for a breakdown of society or zombie apocalypse.

FWIW I'm sure you likely aren't planning some ridiculous event but just saying that doesnt mean much. The people who usually do this kind of thing end up not actually having a criminal record and weren't on anyone's radar for doing something.

I'd agree though that its probably unnecessary unless you're planning on someone showing up at your house to kill everyone. In which case if you even have any time I'd think it would be better spent getting a firearm out rather than gearing up in armor.

As the OP, I asked here because I know there is a large and young military presence here. They might guide me decision better. I am not buying anything that any person on the street can legally buy.

As far as my screen name, I didn't pay any attention to it. That has been my nickname and screen name for years.

body armor: weighs more, makes you slower. they make ammo with the ability to easily go through it. makes you "feel safer". But, you cant wear it in the shower, it gets really uncomfortable when you drive, is bulky and easily detected though visual inspection (if you get good stuff) and to be honest, body armor is not going to stop a 308 to the face. so, spend the cash you want to buy that crap, on a good pp school (ESI Life force) for example. and buy yourself some guns and ammo.

Body armor. First you need duct tape. Then more duct tape. Then moar duct tape. Wrap yourself until you run out of duct tape. Then buy more and tape a piece of paper that says don't derp. There you will find yourself protected from

Oh, and don't forget about your foil helmet. That's the most important part
