Got a call from a reserve FAST company seeing if I had any interest doing a deployment to Italy doing embassy guard duty.

I don't have any dependents, not married.

Part of me doesn't want to miss out on a potentially great experience...

I'm already did a OEF infantry deployment and was in a platoon sized COP for the entire duration...figure if I can do that, embassy duty couldn't be anywhere near as "bad"

But I know the potential suck factor the USMC can create out of a good sounding idea.

    Just looking for opinions...

Just be glad its not for Lybia or another middle eastern country. (RIP)

    I'd say go for it.

Yeah I agree, Italy is probably much safer all things considered.

it's not a "Fast" team out of italy that goes to these countries like lybia? if i'm not mistaken, the ones who went in to regain control were from italy...
