And further more nuking north Korea preemptively isn't exactly the greatest solution either.

They dont yet possess the capabilities to hit the US. They do however have the capacity to hit US bases and interests. The latest rocket launches "they claim were satellites" demonstrates the ability to build long range rockets capable of reaching North America. It hasn't been proved that they posses rockets with nuclear war heads yet but both technologies used to create such a weapon exist in North Korea.

I agree , but the device used to create the successful nuclear detonations was probably the size of a house , lol

I wouldn't doubt it! lol. And from what i hear their aim is pretty bad, they would probably hit Canada or Mexico aiming for Kansas.

Maybe the device will just malfunction and they will just wipe themselves off the map. Problem solved.

I miss the simple days of the Cold War. It felt so safe.

True, it's amusing to me that there are 20 somethings that have no idea what the Cold War felt like. The inherent psychosis of MAD, the knowledge that we could all get vaporized in milliseconds...."Duck! and Cover!"

Junior is trying to prove to the UN he is a bad ass. A sequel to "Team America World Police" would solve all problems with N Korea.

Yes. He passed his first test of leadership by overcoming his fear and hugging Dennis Rodman. Now he feels cocky, and needs to wag his e-penis to prove what a man he is, Kim Jong whatever v5.7.

seems they are getting pretty desperate. The new sanctions where approved with China, they are also threatening to remove the cease fire they have in place with the south. Also they were denied to re-open the embassy in Australia. Not sure how isolated they were a few years ago compared to now but it seems as if they are worse off.

    this thread needs some humor

    anyways

I don't think that they will actually do anything, they would bring the wrath of allthe countries in the UN upon, most likely leading to a take over of North Korea (don't know who by though). If they keep threatening, China is going to put a stop to it I think, somehow or another they will, because if North Korea keeps talking like they are now, the US will put more weapons systems and possibly a missile defense shield even in japan and South Korea. and china definitely does not want that.

This. China is their ally only in so much that it benefits China. They don't want increased US military presence that close to their borders. At this point UN sanctions can't do much more damage, they're pretty much cut off as it is.

Their sabre rattling has been pissing China off lately, and as much as China hates us, they don't want to rock the boat either.

In the end it's nothing more than a dick measuring contest. And America has them beat pretty soundly there...
