Little late but no one has mentioned it. Saw that Army and Marines have canceled there TA programs due to sequestration. The Navy and Air Force are still assessing what their plans are.

With rising Tricare premiums, base facilities closing, and now TA being yanked, the "incentives" to serve through continual deployments are becoming even more scarce.

Sorry to hear, fellas. Hope this doesn't slow things down for you at school too much. I know I relied on mine TA to get me through college. A real slap in the face if you ask me.

Heard today that the coast guard is also canceling it until the conclusion of the sequestration.

Most of my friends that joined the military did it mainly for the tuition assistance. That's absolutely b.s!

I found out this morning that the air force fell in line with the cuts. They still expect us to go to school and further our education though. Tell me how that works.

They expect us to use our G.I Bill, scholarships, and grants according to the email sent out today... First off, I'm not using my G.I Bill to pay for my CCAF. Second, good luck getting scholarships without being in college full time let alone a grant! This sure is a great start to my career in the Air Force...

At least they haven't taken away the G.I Bill! Our Chief is crazy about making people get their CCAF. He expects me to have already gotten started on it while I'm studying for my training that starts in June. He expects all NCO's to already have it any all SrA to be done or nearly done...

This makes me sick. There tons of other ways to help fix the economy, rather than taking benefits away from those who serve our country.
