Yeah... there's definitely alot more buildings and roads on that side of the base since I was there. In fact, it looks like the Italian base by the golf course is now part of the US base and covered with housing?

Is the California still open in town?

The Italian side is just out by AP highway now, not near the golf course. No base housing, just a lot of dorms. The Cal bar is still in town, been there a couple times. Always seems to have cops showing up though, so I stay away. I don't feel like dealing with Italian Police.

Marines for 8 years on active duty, with quite a few deployments including one to Iraq in 2003. I'm now working for a private contractor in Virginia.

Happy birthday to all the enlisted leathernecks out there, and to all who have truly earned thier blood stripes. To the commanders that recieve praise and awards off the backs and bloodshed of others, go fuck yourselves.

USAF May 05- current. Just returned from deployment in Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne. Crazy guys to be stuck around when you're one of very few females (even fewer that actually look like females ). Great group of people but the experience justified my reasoning for going into the AF instead of the Army... no offense... but you guys get shafted more times than not.

I love working in a joint enviroment- we all get along so well
