    Apologize to no one.

Remind those of our sacrifice and don't confuse arrogance

    with leadership.
If I added correctly the count is 104,366 dead.
And we have to watch an American

    elected leader who apologizes

to Europe and the Middle East

    that our country is "arrogant"!

HOW MANY FRENCH, DUTCH, ITALIANS, BELGIANS

AND BRITS ARE BURIED ON OUR SOIL,

    DEFENDING US AGAINST OUR ENEMIES?
WE DON'T ASK FOR PRAISE ... BUT WE HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE!!

Normally I would agree with you, but America was completely different Nation back then during WW2, a lot has happened since then, Vietnam, liberal revolution, Nixon, the Cold war, fall of communism, numerous scandals and American Fuck-ups, George Bush, 911, OEF, OIF... WMD??, etc etc etc... America has significantly reduced its credibility since our heroic rescue of western europe.

Now instead of being arrogant as Bush was; Obama is trying to renew our credibility, however, I think he might be a bit too soft.

But its a different world today then back then... information is readily available and travels much much faster. The world is smaller and mistakes are more noticable and every joe blow critiques it on the internet, tv, and radio.

Comparing America today to America then is no way possible, back then most people were proud to be an American... either because of arrogance, Ignorance (lack of info), or simply honor, courage, and commitment.

I for one believe Americanism is NOT a bad thing... and we could learn a bit from our grandfathers and great grandfathers.

You raise some valid points but if it were not for America, most of the world would be speaking German.

Lets not believe that we solely went over there to defend the rest of Europe from Germany, Italy, and Japan. We went to protect our own interests. We resisted going as long as we could. Who knows if we would've went at all if Japan didn't bomb Pearl Harbor.
