I've worn these boots for several years and have held up great in many different types of environments. Extremely comfortable, light, good support/protection and waterproofing, dries off quickly, and very durable. They've endured lots of abuse and still look pretty good, even after mud, dirt, etc. Even cleaned up well from that nasty burned underbrush soot, etc. from on-post woods.

I've had a pair of redwings for the last 4 years now. Not a combat boot, but a good American work boot. Wear then everyday.

Before the AF switched I had the Oakleys and I loved them, I still wear them around.

Now the Nike SF Sage, they're the best boot I've ever had, minus the durability..

Not Military, but I did get issued S.W.A.T. originals with my uniform, and I don't have a problem and i pretty much wear them everyday.

I thought the same thing until I started looking at their civilian boots. They're all bulky and nothing like their military boot. I wish they made it for civilian use, just in a different color. That boot went through two years of abuse that I don't think any boot could of made it through.

I'll have to check out their site. Maybe they've added some better designs. I seem to never wear hiking boots though. I gave up searching after finding them all to bulky.
I've rocked New Balance minimalist from the Smokey's in NC to the Volcanos in NZ, and everything in between. So it's going to take a special boot to lure me away from them.

Solomon's or ASOLO's are also good civilian boots to use forward, a little on the expensive end but worth it.
