Yea, start running. Tell them you are gay, I am sure there will be a fast track for advancement thanks to the Navy's equal opportunity policy. This is meant to be a joke and if, on the chance you happen to be gay, go into the sub community. Hahahaha

Tinted windows, Clear Bra, WeatherTech Digital mats, Okole Seat Covers, Rear Spring TSB, blacked out badges, 2011 color matched grille, and blower motor replaced. Checking the sofa cushions for more change to continue to mods!

Start learning the rank structure, Sailor's Creed, and General Orders.....and running wouldn't hurt! Good Luck!!

study for the ASVAB so you can get a rating worth something when you get out...

Look into CT, IS, IT, AE/AT, or AC... because being a BM, CS, SH, HT, TM, EN, or OS sucks

    oh, also... do some running.

    You forgot one;

    US Coast Guard Rules.

    1. Take care of Navy wives while their husbands are deployed.
    2. "Deploy" to tropical locations.
    3. Drink.... drink more... then get drunk.
    4. Sit back and realize just how good it is to be a Coastie.

    same shit as everyone else
Coasties are Department of Homeland Security... Same as Immigration and Boarder Patrol Etc... Good service to be in though! I have a few friends still in the Coast Guard.

Navy is the way to go though IMHO. I did 8 as an Electrician and loved it. Tax payers even gave me a free 4yr degree while I was in! Worth ever bit of your time. My GF has $30K plus in student loans... Me none! Now I get paid to go to school for another degree and kick it.

Don't do the Marine corp unless you like completely ridiculous rules and UFC...

Don't do the Army unless you love to camp and want long ass deployments...

Don't do the Air Force if you want a technical job, they have too many specific jobs that don't expand your skill set as much as a similar job in the Navy will.

Don't join the Navy if you can't live on a ship for 3-7 months. Ship is much better then the desert or Afgan though for sure! There are women on the ship too so its not like 2000 men go out and 1000 couples come back. But while at sea you see port's all around the world and have a ton of fun. Or you can get lucky like me and just work on ground based aircraft :D

The Coast Guard is DHS - the FBI and the NSA are not.
And just because we are not in DOD does not mean we are not a military service-Military is an organizational structure not a matter of what gov't department you are in. The UCMJ, the standard pay scales, deployments, uniforms-yup...all military.
