I know that I could get -north- through Pritchett. I did it twice in my IFS '98 taco. No body damage or broken parts the first time and 1 broken CV the second time. And the only by-pass I took was the one for Rock Pile. I pulled up onto Rock Pile and drug my rear bumper until the back tires came off the ground and couldn't go forward any more. So I got a strap and got drug off it backwards and took the bypass which was a fun obsticle itself. If i had skids and front locker, I would attempt it in this taco. I like Moab for the scenery just like everyone, but I also love the challenge. We have plenty of easy wheeling around here. The stuff that I say would be non IFS full body vehicle friendly would be like Coyote Canyon or Upper Helldorado.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Elephant Hill is a nice run. NYCO, the book is wrong about it though. It shows it being a one way loop towards the end. It's not.

I may have spoke to soon when I said all the dates would work, the dates of the 10-13 would still probably work but the 17-20 I'm out due to work.

The hitch provides a little less clearance obviously but it will take a helluva lot more beating without damage than the stock bumper will for those that don't have plate bumpers. Mine dragged on quite a few spots on poison spider but it never became an issue for me. It actually protected the bumper on a number of ledges. I just unbolted the 7-pin connector and zip tied it up inside the bumper so it wouldn't get ripped off.

nope...still stock bumper...was going to get a rear bumper this summer, then the option came up to re-gear, so i re-geared and bumper got put on hold

that's actually a really good point...my 7pin is already rerouted by my license plate...i really just need to get a damn bumper! haha..

I was looking at the wrong month when I originally started planning. May is about the time that work starts getting really busy with new folks showing up.

Maybe I can help. I've done Moab with my truck in several stages. IMO the most important thing would be sliders.

Opinions will vary but for Moab I would say. Other than of course lift and tires.

    1. Sliders
    2. Bumpers
    3. Armor

Don't get me wrong armor is very important but in Moab from my experience It’s approach and departure angles that will get you. Of course this also depends on the trail you run.

I don’t want to scare anyone away from Moab, there is plenty of fun to be had for even a stock truck. :)

    Bob, what are your thoughts?

If you have a tow package you can be like me and slide your way down and not worry about it. :D

Without a high clearance rear bumper not much we can do about the departure.
