and if anyone has any large camping areas that they would like to share, please post up or PM me..thanks

unfortunately it seems that most the larger open areas won't be that close to town (10+mi)

options i see would be end of potash road (38.495452,-109.654176) or near kane creek (out past this point 38.484173,-109.608407)

I'm sure if there is permit issues we can all pitch in for them.

I think the limit before permits are need is 5-8 rigs in one spot. So it shouldn't be too hard to solve, but they will try to ticket large groups without permits.

A small handful of select mods.
When COTTORA hosted a "Wheelers for the Wounded" event a couple of years back there was a large group (over 30 I think) and they had to have permits, a dumpster, and bathrooms for the event.

Something to think about as this group grows.

I have gone the rounds with getting permits in Utah. Be prepared for a battle.

yea wonder if the permit issue comes into play there as well? camping wise, there are many campsite throughout the hills in that area to spread out the camping and we'll just have a main area we can use for gathering/drinking/socializing then as the night winds down disperse out to our campsites around the area...

It’s probably worth at least a quick phone call. I kind feel the permit thing may be primarily geared towards events such as the races out on the Bonneville Salt Flats and such that have vendors and large crowds attending. Also big brother wants to know of any particular group was in an area should there be a problem (fire, vandalism etc.). When I talked to them awhile ago they made it sound like most permits don’t even have fee’s associated with them.

I highly doubt we would have any problem if we just did our thing after all this is Moab the Mecca for off road groups coming together to hang out and do their thing.

I'm definitely wanting to come! A lot will depend on my work schedule, getting sliders, and a new bumper installed of course ;) Pretty sure my wife would like to join, she's been itching to go camping and take pictures of Moab ever since I showed her the pics of last year's meet!
