Different frequency and much longer range. The az guys love em, but they're not as easy to use as a CB

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you technically need a license to operate a HAM radio?

    hell yea..join the colorado convoy!

we'll see if we can keep you're truck on all 4 tires this time around...

yes..do it! bring some more oregon trucks down with ya too...i'm sure the desert trails are a wild swing from the wet NW but you'll love it

It's shaping up to be, isn't it?

sure it man...so you going to round up a convoy yourself and join the mayhem?

hell yea man! would love to see that rig you got in person...

yea so far this is the easy part...getting 40 rigs into moab and not pissing off the rangers will be the harder part

camping will most likely have to be spread out throughout numerous sites

and once you establish your campsite, i'd recommend keeping the tent set up and take anything valuable with you wheelin, but campsites can remain set up while we camp and come back to established sites after the day's activity

base camp will be good for either meeting up before trails and/or after trails

depends on how big of an area we can establish will determine the extent of base camp's use..

but at the least will work as a place to meet up in the afternoon and can be used as a meet place in the morning..

trail choice for the day will also determine the meet place for everyone..

i'm sure there will be some people who may prefer to sleep at a hotel or an established campground too..

most likely, base camp will not have bathrooms/showers, so some parties may want to find established/pay campgrounds for the use of those facilities..

Good to know. I didn't want to be wheeling w/ all my gear if I don't have my AP expos by then.

Also, I wanna change my vote to beginning or middle of may. I have a family reunion in June.
