Those tires are Maxxis Creepy Crawlers. Looking at availiable sizes of that tire they have a 37" a 38.5" and a 40". the 40 is only for a 17" wheel and the wheels in that pic don't look big enough to be 17's so my guess is that Jeep is running the 38.5" tires.

The size might be deceptive because of the angle of the photo.

Maybe we went a different way, or just passed it and I forgot, but we exited the trail by widow maker and mother-in-law. Where is that obstacle?

speaking of widow maker, after watching konsta even bump it, not doable in our trucks unless maybe you have 35s on a 6" lift, or maybe 37s (cough cough silas) and a winch. But you would need a winch just to be sure on widow maker.

Rock Chucker is a side obstacle just off the main trail just before the "mirror gulch" section. That's the section that's a kind of tight climb up some ledges with rock walls on either side. Much earlier than Widow Maker.

As for Widow Maker, IMO it has become one of the most difficult obstacles in Moab for everything but dedicated buggies. The ledge has gotten much bigger and tougher over the years. I think is is almost on par with the rockpile on Pritchett Canyon. Not quite but close. The only reason Metal Masher doesn't have a more difficult rating is because the obstacles like Rock Chucker and Widow Maker are optional. The ones on Pritchett do not have bypasses.

I've thought about maybe joining you but I don't think I can swing it. Plus I don't know if an 800 mile round trip is worth 1.5 days of wheeling...

I'd think it'd be easier with a taco than a short wheel base heep. I bet it gets sketchy for jeeps....

lol awesome.

Those look like fun obstacles. If my truck is back together I'll be up for some of those trails. Oh BTW my truck is gonna be even more trail worthy.

I have done rock chucker in my '98 x-cab taco on 35's. Wasn't too bad actually and yes, I would prefer a longer wheelbase on that one. But I bet in a DCLB it would be about a double whammy which would make it very interesting.
