    2004 thingy
I found someone to work my Saturday (30th) so I'm in now. Not sure if the family is coming or not. If they are, I will be towing the RV with the 4runner and camping where ever I can fit it. If not I will be single guy in my Tacoma.

There might be a chance that I could talk my wife into 4wheeling, if that is the case we will be bringing both the 4runner and the Tacoma. I might be down for leading some easier trails at that point like Elephant hill, 7mile. The wife might do a trail like poison spider also. This does put me in a mad dash to get the e-locker and 4.56s in the 2004 4runner along with hoping my bumper and sliders show up. The Tacoma needs a front bumper.

At the time I couldn't figure it out... Thought it was a hub, turns out it was my CV.. But also I think that's where my spider gears took a shit, since the next time I used 4wd my front didn't have any power.

I almost went anyways after getting my CV replaced, but things fell apart and work needed me and I had a couple unexpected bills come up.

None of those should be an issue this year, no more momentum wheeling now that I have a locker, work is finally fully manned (25% last year) and have a couple grand set aside too pay for the trip and last few mods (sliders and winch).

I did that 3 years ago only I blew up my spiders in moab. Still drove it to Vegas and home after. But just because you have a locker doesn't mean you wont have to use the moab bump.

Yeah like I said it was kind of the whole thing that stopped it, but the breaking initiated the whole deal.

as far as needing the bump, I'm fine with that... my problem was I'd do more than bump since I didn't want to not make it... damn ego did earn the nick name "Capt'n Planet" though... so there's that :D

I've learned my lesson, and if I need more than a little bump, it's too much for me right now with a DD. My ego is gone.

This kinda goes for everyone but no problem or shame in taking a strap or winch over certain obstacles so you can enjoy the whole trail. We did 100% of metal masher last year and it was a blast.

Well as this will be the first time to Moab... I'll start with some of the easier trails... hopefully I won't require a strap or winch... but yes, I will have no problem calling for one if need be.

I'm almost as anxious to see some of ya'll trucks in action as I am to wheel myself... ALMOST

I'm kind of excited to need my winch. It's pretty new and has only been used a couple times. Need to get my money's worth!

It is a driving technique. I found the need for it more in Farmington NM then Moab though.

It is hard to explain but......

Using the right amount of throttle and wheel spin to bump up a ledge without going so far as to have wheel hop or geting out of control. In Moab it comes with a cool tire barking sound.
