Accommodations in Moab

I have heard of Slickrock Campground, but I don't see great reviews. I was planning to stay in their cabins for a little A/C before and after our run on White Rim. Do you guys have any suggestions for camping/cabins in Moab. Preferably not to spendy, the gas out from VA and back is going to put a hurt on the wallet.

The cabins at Canyonlands Campground are much better than the ones at Slickrock campground. They have two bunk beds in each cabin and the bottom bunk on each one is a double bed so you could theoretically put 6 people in the cabin. There is a small fridge (I think) and ac units in each cabin. They also have a small enclosed porch so you can sit outside and relax. Definitely where I would be looking if I were in your shoes. Prices are decent as well. Free WiFi in the camground

 

we stayed at the Moab rim campground, those guy are great. Jim and Sue take great care of the place. Clean bathrooms (communal) and showers and the rooms are perfect with AC, at least one bed, fridge and microwave. Ours had a picnic table inside to lay out maps and beat the heat. Only $50 a night! Oh, and having a potable water spigot on the premise is great for fillups before rolling out down the trail.

The fam. and I stayed at the Canyonlands KOA back in '08. Like Box Rocket mentioned, it is cheap.

For good eats, try Pasta Js!

 

Next year staying on the East Coast and heading up to Nova Scotia for the cool weather and wilderness.

Looks pretty fantastic, and you can rent a Yurt in the middle of nowhere. Swweeeeeetttt.
