    What's your dirt riding experience?

A 525/530 might be a bit much for your first dirt experience. But a far as dual sports go, it's the bee's knees. Pickup a set of sumo wheels and it'll be a hoot for sure.

+1 although for tight woods riding the 525/530s are a bit big. ive heard a lot of good things about the ktm300. big 2stroker but the power is real smooth and it isnt a hard hit. gas mileage is an issue there though but you can always buy an enduro tank.

A KTM 530 is 1 of the best dual sport bikes out there, but KTMs are expensive and expensive to maintain. If u r on a budget, go with a Japanese bike. Also, how big do u wanna go? KTM, Triumph, & BMW have huge dual sport bikes - anywhere from 800 to 1300 cc.

The DRZ's a pretty stout platform. Check out ThumperTalk.

    It depends on what the
OP wants, a dual sport or supermoto. A buddy and I just got in from a little trip around town, just picking on the Harley guys....

Haha yeaaa... cuz its a super moto.. its only good for shooting around town. I'm looking to get a triumph sport tour. Something that I can cruise on and go for real long rides. If I lived somewhere more rural I'd get a BMW GS800

I dont believe you ride a super moto in the woods, especially in mud. I have a drz 400 sm and I've also had a kx 250. Theres no way you can ride something that has street tires on the same terrain (in any practical manner) (IMO).
Sure I've had my sm in dirt before, but you cant rip on it at all.. its more or less idle along and hope you dont get to any mud or sand

but since im talking about it.. heres a couple pics of it..

    Lots.
The DRZ is just a little under powered. Great starter though. If you have the money I would say go fora KTM or Husqvarna

KTM and Husqvarna's are no joke..... I am looking for something to augment the gas prices. Turning in the 20 mpg Rav4 next week. I might start looking around for a good enduro, since I can't ride the GSXR1000 in the fall or winter.
