I'm selling a 2001 suzuki gsxr1000 with 21K miles. some very minor cosmetic damage on the right fairing. the bike runs like new and perfectly maintaned. now my question is i'm asking $3500 for it...Is that an unreasonable price or is $3000 more reasonable?

$3500 sounds fair to me, gives you some room cause who ever makes an offer is going to low ball.

yeah, thats the problem im running into, it kelly blue books for mor than i'm asking. I was thinking maybe the bike isn't all that i think it is, since it's my bike. 2800 is to low to start...i may settle for 3000. still seems low to me

What KBB? Around my are the going price for 600's is like 3-4k you can get bikes for under 6k all day. Depends how bad you want to get rid of it.

Based on that, I'd say 3,500 - 3,750 is a fair asking price. You'll probably end up closer to 3,000 after negotiation. This is of course without seeing the bike and taking your word for condition. Personally, I'm weary of older, higher mileage sport bikes (especially litter bikes) unless I knew the original owner. Like Yotamike said, depends on how bad you want it gone, but 3,500 isn't unreasonable by any means.

$3500 is a fair starting price.People are going to chew you down. If you put it up for $10 someone will offer you $5. $2500-$3000 is a fair price for that bike. Miles aren't crazy high for year but are high for a used sport bike. Like stated above, not knowing the history, that could be 15k miles on 1 wheel. Most, not all, sportbikes have a hard life. That's why I don't buy used bikes

thanks for all the responses. I guess i'll take $3k while it's an offer. i can always count on TW for words of wisdom.
