So my buddies build is a 67 triumph bobber full rebuild. Smithbro's Girder, stretched the rear end to accomodate a Harley floater rotor, one off pipes, full built forward controls and front cowl, linked shifter from Euro to Imperial side, only thing original on this bike is the middle of the frame. Have atleast 20 days in the bike at 8-10 hours a day between my buddy and I. Just waitin on him to finish ordering somemotor parts and do the paint.

So here are some pics from day one and two

Some more post sandblasting. Fender mount depth, new parts, coil mounts, then the following weekend we did motormounts, exhaust mounts, plate mount, floater rotor mount, and rear brake lamp mount.

Then we really started cranking down on her, shift linkage, cowl, forward control mounts.

After bringing her home after that day my boy decided that the front end was too wide with the forward controls due to the exhaust. I conceded and this is what we came up with.:D

    Now onto my bike,

So I posted this awhile back in the local AZ section but didn get many hits and most of those guys, well we will just leave it at that.... nor did I realize that there was a moto section on here....

Might as well move Dorthy to a promising new location.... Build started out as a CBRF4I (wrecked) with a clean title, frame, and motor. Originaly I was going to streetfighter the CBR but after getting my boys bike almost complete I decided that Motard/Bobber was where my heart truely is. So this is what has happened to the build thus far. 87 Sportster frame with a narrow glide front end and Fatboy rear wheel. Going to change out for buell XB12 wheels, brakes, and forks(already purchased).

So here are few of what she looked like when I first got her.

Motor mounts done, thinking about chopping the rear down some to level out the mikuni bowl's just a little bit more. Also going to chop the spine and bring it up an inch from the rear vertically to allow more access for the ram air box for the turbo setup I plan on doing with this 600. Thinking a turbo off a starion or similar size will suffice. Shave the fins and run about 4lbs. Should be no lag atall.

The triumph looks amazing and so does the CBR. The CBR is going to be scary to ride, being hardtailed and turbo'd lol.

Yeah it should be different, thats what Im going for on Dorthy. Something completely off the wall. Picked up an oil bag today for 30 bucks so know i have a place to hide the ecu and battery.

Yeah, Bobbers are great for cruisin.... not so long distances. But if you want something to scoot around the bends I would opt out for the cafe. The owner of the firm I work for wants me to build him a cafe with a twin liter motor. Pushing him on motard wheels and brakes, RC51 motor, double r rear end, RC Forks, in a CB750 frame to keep the bike nice and tight.... Hoping that project starts in the next couple weeks so I can make some side cash to get back to crackin out on dorthy.

That's why it's hard for me to choose I live near some of the best canyons you can run. What I might do is build it up sell it/save up and buy an r6 or drz400

you'd have more fun on a motard XR650.... the 400 is weak without the 440 athena head.

In my experience those Athena gaskets are only good for about one season of hard running on a motard/high RPM thumper....

Indeed we could sir, indeed we could. Could go all out and get the KTm 990......;)

then that sqaushes the DMZ 400 idea.... WR250 with the turbo option if your still looking for something light and nimble.
