Hmmm...I'm wondering how Honda will price the CB500X in comparison to the NC700X, and how the power/torque figures will compare between the two. Seems like they'd cannibalize each other...the NC has low power & redline, and a pretty low price (the manual tranny/non-ABS version anyway), so unless the 500 has a truly low price and makes even less power, it seems like they'd steal sales from one another.

But hey...I'm just glad that there's more on the market to choose from!

EDIT: just saw the 500F is priced at $5499, or $5999 with ABS...I'd imagine the X would sit closer to $6K & $6.5 (without and with ABS, respectively). With the NC700X at a hair under $7K, I could see some cannibalization.

But again...choice is a good thing.

I've got a couple of '81 CB750s I could be persuaded to part with cheap for local sale to someone willing to trailer them from my storage unit.

Bought a CB750K for my wife... light project, required minimal work to get back on the road. She failed her MSF and decided she was happy on the back of my Vulcan.

Got laid off, and the storage unit changed managers and I could no longer work on the bikes after work or on Sunday, so what moved from a light restoration to heavier modification (replace wire wheels with Comstars, replace front suspension with Goldwing parts and dual rotors) came to a halt so the bike sits "rollable" but not ridable, and has been that way since 2009.

    The '81 CB750F was a 2-for deal when I bought the K... seller wouldn't sell only the K.
Seller was in the process of restoring and painting the F... some parts may be missing. I bought a new seat for it. Seller thought he'd protect the seat by flipping it upside down when he parked it. Ya... saved the cover, but the pan rotted away.

I'd let them both (and all of the spare/replacement/new/old parts) for $1800.
K has 22k on it, F has 12k on it... or vice-versa. Seller said the F was running, but not well, when he parked it.
You can hear the K running on my Photobucket page:
