    From what I see, get your butt over on the seat and the balls (first knuckle behind the toes) on the pegs. Your lower body isn't really shifting much and I normally ran with one butt-cheek on the seat and it will help "lock" you into the tank with your outside knee. On a gixxer you kind of sit "in" the bike regarding the seat/tank relationship but that indent is there for a reason and will help you hold onto the bike. The first picture you posted looked like you were dragging the toe of your boot which can get hard on the toes. Getting onto the balls of your feet will help your legs become springs when shifting weight and body position.


    edit: Looking back at your earlier photo, I see your on a R6 (guessing either '03-'04 or R6S model). Either way, get your feet back and talk to control riders who will show your the tip-in, apex and exit lines to get you on track... You paid to use the track, use all of it (through the corners) and maximize your experience. Also, taking a Keith Code CSS school, Pridmore's STAR (if it's still around) or any on-track instruction will help in the long run. Do you have adjustable rear-sets? If so, put them forward and up (my opinion here) to help "force" you into better leg angles (and I find it more comfortable honestly).

    Stock Honda bodywork is like origami... After some practice swapping stock Honda plastics is about an hour to do but unless you swap to sharkskins (who make a street and track set) expect to take some time...

    lame, swapping isnt too big of an issue but its just time consuming like you said. Is there anyway to add dzuz fasteners? Thatd make it simple as shit other than unbolting the new ones.

    Not that I've found except for some of the lower panels...The upper half fairing and tail-sections are still time consuming. Even on the lowers you're probably only looking at 4-7 bolts IIRC on that generation...

    JBlaze, I want you to try this if you have the bike on stands or a sidestand: Get into position while sitting on the bike and like you are getting ready to tip-in to a corner. Put your butt half-cheek on the seat, ball of your foot on the peg. Rotate your knee out, at the hip, like you're trying to drag it. If you're properly set-up you should be able to take your hands off the clip-ons and not affect your balance in any way. That is properly locked into the bike with your lower body. That is one lesson they would teach you at Code School...

    Yea thats what he means. They are called clip-ons because its not a true handle bar like bicycles but instead two handles that "clip" on to the shock.

    Jblaze, Bloodhound mentioned Code's super bike school and Jason Pridmore's star school (still around, but they limited where they travel to a few years ago) Both are well worth the money and will teach you in a day what will take you a whole season to learn on your own. Keith Code's super bike school teaches at a lot of tracks local to you so check them out. Try what he said about getting your outer knee and boot locked on with the bike on stands. Practice until you can support yourself this way, you don't want to be putting weight or force on the bars when tipping in and in the corner, puts unwanted input to the front wheel during cornering and that is bad. Also it looks like from your avatar you have a dirt bike background, I do to. The way you corner a mx bike in dirt and a sport bike on pavement is pretty much opposite. You have a berm to plant the tires on in dirt but on pavement you have to keep the bike upright enough to not roll off the edge of your tires, thats why you lean off on a sport bike and push a dirtbike down in corners. Also both code and pridmore have really good books out going over technique. (the Pridmore book is actually Reg Pridmore, Jason's dad, that wrote it) The Code twist of the wrist 1 & 2 also has a bunch of good info and goes into proper position on the bike. Check those out too if you haven't already. Hope this helps out.

    Sacrifice, kurveygirl.com has the longer dzus you can make work with stock abs plastic. It probably won't save a ton of time though, like bloodhound said the honda's are origami. I put an exhaust on a friends cbr last summer and damn there's pieces everywhere on those! Optimal racing makes pretty affordable glass and they crash decently, not quite as durable as armor bodies or sharkskins but about half the cost. it will definitely be cheaper to run glass or your old plastic than to crash your new plastic. OEM abs stuff is pricey, you can fix glass pretty easily and rattle can it and you're good to go.

    my new stuff isnt oem unfortunately so while it was cheap i still dont want to mess it up. Guess ill just switch stuff out, may look into the longer dzus, after a few attempts it really doesnt take long to put plastics together, just undoing every bolt is the time consuming part.

    That BP/lower body check can be done without being on the track. At Code School we did it on '07 ZX6-R's (anemic powerbands, good handling, weird gear position indicator) on their sidestands. I've done it on my rear-stands and side/kick stands in the garage.

    Optimol works, but several times a year Armour Bodies has 2 for 1 deals on bodywork if you know someone else with the same model bike it basically halves the price.;)

    How do you guys tow/transport your motorcycle? Looking into getting a vershaul hitch carrier. Since im usually loading and unloading by myself, looking for something more convient.
