    I have owned 5 different sport bikes (1989 Ninja 600, 2002 F4i, 2005 R1, 2005 zx-10, 2008 GSX-r 750) in my day.
    collage2.jpg

I got married, turned 30 and there sat my bike. After one year it had a total of 1200 miles. My attitude really changed about riding a bike closely associated with many Douchebags who surely deserve such a title. But I will always crave two wheels and the wife loves to ride as much as my dogs loves to lick his nuts (sorry, crude I know).

Then I met the yamaha WARRIOR! I knew that was my new drug. 102ci (1670 cc) of power mated with the R1 suspension front and rear in a bad ass Dragster body with amazing handling, Harley torching power and Japanese technology and reliability!

I bought an 2007 two years ago from a farmer in Idaho with 1200 miles on it. This was how it looked the day i bought it:
    IMGP0904.jpg

Since then, I have enjoyed many rides and my mods, i.e.: chop the rear end with a grinder and add LED tail, seats from corbin, blacked out V&H big shots plus both airbox and coffin, 2" lowering links, debadged and sexy.

Mine is on the right and my good buddy's is on the left.
    100_0018.jpg

Now whether you hate it, love it or ride a Harley and therefore cannot admit your jealousy I want to hear from the bike lovers on TacoWorld.

Cool. Does this happen often, people ridding sport bikes and then switching to a cruiser type of bike? Or vice versa.

I wish I could sell my no handling VTX1300. That thing is a hog in the corners. I miss my sport bike power and handling. Looks like you found a much better bike for the in between cruiser/ sport bike. Keep the shiny side up!

Among my friends who have or currently do ride sport bikes it is really hard to imagine riding a "Slow, Heavy, Ugly cruiser". But Yamaha gave us a sweet option to crossover.

    Great looking bike.:)

I nearly quit riding alltogether by the time I was 30, I had just lost interest I guess. Fast forward 10+ years and I'm back up to 9 bikes and loving it, these days I seem to enjoy working on them almost as much as I enjoy riding them! Motorcycles are addictive!

I have every intention of going to a cruiser one day as soon as my speed thrill days are over. Sport bikes are a lot of fun, they just aren't made for long riding.

    Good looking bike btw.

Awesome looking machine. I am going to test ride one this afternoon, barring no rain. Did you buy your pipes black or did you get them custom done black?

Are you on any "warrior" owners webs sites? What are they? Thanks.

The V&H big shots have shields over the pipes that is what I powdercoated black.

As for sites for the Warrior, I use rswarrior.com but I am a little undecided on whether I like the site or not.

That is a nice warrior, well done with the mods, but the Kawasaki Mean Streak suits my riding style alot better. I had a hard time holding a line with the warrior, it seemed to fight me around every turn. The Mean Streak on the other hand handles more like a sport bike. It does give up a little on the top end, but hey it's a cruiser. I don't think I'll ever give up track days, but I do enjoy a nice cruise once in a while and surprising the shit outta the squids on their Gixxers in the twisty bits.

I have to agree with Oldtimertoyota, every bike in my garage has a different purpose. I can't imagine life without any one of my 7 bikes. Working on them just becomes a necessity.

I'm a true believer in it doesn't matter what you ride, just as long as your on 2 wheels.

I am a friend of anyone who rides any motorcycle.

That being said, your quote is funny:
The warrior is set up with a link style rear suspension taken from the Yamaha R1 (fully adjustable preload and rebound, like a sport bike) and the kayaba front forks from the same bike. Your Mean streak has dual shocks with coil-over technology in the rear.

There is a reason my pegs are ground down and I can scrub damn near to the edge of a 210/50 17R tire on my warrior:

I call operator error on you not being able to hold a line on a warrior

You have that backwards. It's 102 ci (1670 cc).

    102 cc = 6 ci

The Warrior looks pretty damned good. Never tried one, but from what I can see they're made for grown up sportbikers. Now, when you get older (ancient, like me) you might find yourself gravitating toward a bagger. Let me recommend the Victory line- my Vision constantly amazes me with what it can do.
