Box for 2010 DC for 2 Kicker CVT-10's

I saw your response to the poster a few threads down about choosing a different sub for his '02 DC. Will 2 of the Kicker CVT-10s fit in the new DCs? I'm very interested in putting 2 of these behind my rear seat. I already have a Rockford Fosgate P500-2 amp to push them and would like a box for both subs (0.80 cu. ft. min airspace) and the amp. Is this do-able?

Bradley, the reason I asked that was because the Kickers require a minimum of .8 cubic feet as you mentioned however IMO they sound MUCH better in a larger enclosure and even if you do go with the minimum they would take up nearly the entire rear wall so there would be no room for the amp. There are many subs that will work well with that amp as well as the space available and if you are a Rockford fan you may consider their shallow mount (several guys guys here are using them and like them quite a bit).

I definitely am a Rockford fan. I was just concerned that this amp might be a little too much for their shallow mounts (300 RMS, 600 max power) and damage them over time. Plus all the reviews I read of the Kickers were just singing them praises. Do you think that would be the case or would this amp be ok to run with 2 of the 10" shallow RF's? Thanks for your help!

One of my not so famous quotes:

Quote:
Amps don't blow speakers, the operator of the volume knob does!
By that I mean a sub will only "see" the amount of power you send it since you have control of the volume knob so if set up properly and operated within the limitations of the sub(s) you could use just about any amp.

Thanks so much for your help, Mr. Marv. I think I will go with the RFs. I had toyed around with the idea of getting the JL 13TW5, but I just don't have that kind of money to devote just to the sub. With the Fosgates, I can get 2 10s and still have money left over for the box and other stuff. Thanks again for your quick replies!

You have lots of options back there and what you do depends on your objective as well as budget. I do build the enclosures and if you email me directly or call me at the number below I'll see what we can come up with for you!

BTW, for anyone that called me today please try back tomorrow. Another phone took a dump and it looks like I lost everything!
