Ok guys is the sketch of the design.

After discussing the design and what I want out of the system I made the decision to go with the Alpine MRP-F300 amp and a shallow mount Pioneer subwoofer.

We would love to get opinions on the design and any suggestions you guys may have. Don't hesitate to ask any questions.

This is the 2nd design, but I like the 1st much better

I built this last week. It fits in between the rear seats on my 2010 AC. I got cheap carpet, but if you color matched something like this it could look quite stock. Also, if you have better building skills than me (not hard to do) you could make it fit in better. Total cost was under $30 bucks for the wood, glue, wiring terminals, and carpet.

I have a Alpine MFP-300 amp driving an 8 inch JBL sub off the stock head unit. Not going to compete with the thump thump crowd but rocks out slipknot and hatebreed enough to hurt my ears.

Nice piece, I'm looking for something alittle more discrete. This box should end up looking like a center console and not a speaker box.....thats my big thing about it.

I am hoping for something that will hide the sub. I haul stuff in the back of my access cab and do not want to damage the sub. Hidden may also discourage the low life's in my neighborhood from breaking into my truck to steel the sub. My amp is already under the passenger seat. If I had to choose between the two drawings I would pick the second. I am looking just to round out my music.

Cool thanks Dale. The 2nd box sounds like the best bet for you, I try not to put anything in the back of mine. Maybe Marc can alter the design slightly and have the sub firing down for you.

this is one idea thats been in my head. its hard to find pics that would work, but you get the idea.

you would have to remove all the under seat storage and the seats would have to come up and the seat belt buckles most likely lengthened, so im not sure how it would be for sitting back there. but here is it..

I talked to Mr. Marv about this last year, for my 2009, as I too like it. Fold down seat to hide when not in use. Marv said he did not think their was enough Cu/Ft area for a sub. Dale

something like this has been in my head too, but you would lose all seating in the back and it would be hard to make, but it can be done and would be really cool.

heres a PS job. box would be up to you, this is just showing placement i was thinking of.

Not much yet, got a pretty good sound system w/ my custom sub box. Plan on adding more lights & a tool box.
    Discrete?
    Here you go.
It fires down, but it's a 12" PyleDriver.
Color match? Find the correct color trunk padding at your local upholstery shop. It sits on 4 1/4" x 3" screws (so you can raise it up enough to prevent speaker slap. I hate that!
MrMarv, if you like it, feel free to borrow the design, I designed & built it myself.
It fits my '08, not sure if you can maintain the volume for a newer model. This ones near perfect. I have more photos in my gallery.

another idea where you would remove the storage bins under seat, make a box the same or similar dimenstions of the storage bins, make a hole in the center and fiberglass the sub in the center hole. would require the seats to be cut and re carpeted to fold back down (if you want it on hinges) over the protruding sub.

thats about how ive been thinking of doing mine and do one the exact same on the other side just for a storage bin. then ill have a nice flat smooth surface the whole way across the back. ive already got a make shift platform in the back that makes it flat across the back. how much cuft is that box?

I know your trying to help, but your not even using the correct truck to make the ilustration on all these photoshops. This is for a 09-11 which has a different back seat than the 05-08 model. If you want to start a thread on your specific model please do.

And as I'm looking for something that doesn't look like a subwoofer/sub box this really is off topic in this thread. Thanks though

scroll down.. great solution if you want to do 2 subs. this will give you a great sounding system and doesnt take up any space
    http://www.xtremekreations.com/news.html
edit: im pretty sure this will fit the 09-10 cause i dont think they changed the door specs

I built a box that fits right behind the center console which fits an 8inch. I love the sound of an 8. Very tight bass but when you want it to hit hard it also can do that too. I have an infinity Reference and its awesome. Did the same thing for my buddy and he has the Hertz Energy 8 which is amazing. I will post some pics later...
