    My top 2:

U2 - Solid music. Involved in world issues. Longevity

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Fused punk, rap & rock. Longevity

    Since 1980 not through Will.:D

    U2. Philanthropy
Tool. Individuality not a follower and MJK is badass.
Marylin Manson. Kicked the conservative establishment in the nuts.

Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Candlebox and any grunge band in the early 90's. Pissed off music before the emo trend hit. The last of the great music.

As for music services. Pandora is the utmost shit. If you have never heard of it check it out.

A lot of bands try to do things to help out but nothing to the level of Bono and U2.

Nirvana. They basically turned the music industry around with one song.

As for stuff 2000+, listen to The Black Keys. Blues rock that literally sounds like it's from the 60's and 70's, but is less than 8 years old.

Muse is also a really sweet and very unique (IMO) sound. I really can't find another band that sounds like them.
