Has Ballyhoo been mentioned yet???!!! Discovered them back in high school, when they were even more unknown. These guys are the unsigned heroes of the reggae genre. Originating from Baltimore, they got a nice distinct sound. Upbeat, fun to listen to driving around the beach. No "fake jamaican" vocals, and relatable lyrics. Their songs will get stuck in your head all day, I promise! :D They're my replacement for when Sublime gets old. In fact, they're so unknown, most of the music isn't even on YouTube.

If you like what you hear, let me know and I can possibly make a few CD's of their entire Discography and mail it out to you. Great music in high quality.

Here's another in case the first one didn't catch your interest ;)

Oh, and if you like Rebelution, Expendables, Tribal Seeds, Iration, Sublime, Pepper, etc you'll like these guys.

Alright here is one of my all time favorite bands Dry And Heavy.. Kinda crazy, they're an all Japanese Roots/Dub style Reggae Band... Also making them even rarer for a reggae band they have a female singer "Likkle Mai" which she has her on solo thing going..
This song "Dawn Is Breaking" kinda has a melodic almost haunting draw to it. Deff has a certain feel to it, at least to me.

No, I've never heard of those guys before.. I normally don't listen to real up beat or fast tempo stuff.. But I like that second song you posted it's got a good vibe, I don't dislike the first, but like the second better.. And that's cool of you to offer making a CD too! Also You should try listening to a couple songs I posted from "The Black Seeds" I think you would dig them, also one dude mentioned a band "six60" you might like as well.. Both are from New Zealand.. :D

And here's one for you since you're "The Traveler", John Brown's Body- Traveling Man!

Yes! Gotta love Brad Watanabe's roots music. He used to be with Ooklah the Moc and is now with The Green Band I believe.

I've ran across Dry and Heavy before. Some of their sounds remind me of things I've heard from The Roots Radics. Shit they've done everything though.

I remember there was a nice dub track on GTA 3 when I used to play that game... :)

Yeah that's a good Irie Souls song. Another one I like is "Dis Type Ah Dub". Can't find a video or full version of it.
