    Hey guys,

I'm new here figured I'd introduce myself before I start asking for help. I'm married and a father of 3 boys 6 and under. I currently drive a 2008 Evo X and plan on trading it in at Fred Anderson Toyota this weekend for a Taco Dbl Cab w/ TRD package. I've come to the realization that there are a ton of things I enjoyed doing with my dad growing up, fishing, camping, off-roading, etc... I want to give my kids the same enjoyment, thus the reason I am trading in the Evo.

I'm very new to the truck scene and don't know a lot about what options to get. The main reason I picked the TRD package was so I could take some trips up to URE and feel a little more confident when I go. I doubt I'll need it, E-locker, much until I get braver but at least this way it'll be there.

Feel free to shoot me links, advice, warnings; I won't take offense to any of it!

Haha! I love my Evo. It's my second one. But let's be honest there's really nothing I can do with it and my boys exceptto end up in jail. :(

The double cab should have plenty of room to comfortably fit three booster seats in the back.
I've got the off-road package and haven't had to use the locker yet, even with all the snow we got up here in northern va last winter. But like you I agree it's nice to know it's there. I really liked the hood scoop and color matched options on the sport package, but decided on the off road instead. I'm not a fan of chrome so I am slowly removing anything chrome from my truck. There are tons of mod ideas on this site if you're into doing that stuff and plenty of how-to's if you feel adventurous and want to do stuff yourself.
Either way you'll enjoy your new truck. Maybe they'll have some good incentives to get the 2010s off the lot to make room for the 2011s coming in soon too so you might be able to get a good deal. Post up some pics when you get the truck! Welcome to TW

    Welcome to TW.

That is the same way I justified the purchase of my truck to myself and my wife-

"I am doing it for the children!"

Seriously though, I have 3 kids and we just got back from a 2 week roadtrip vacation. I also decided I need to give the kids the same life experiences and memories that my parents did for me.

thats pretty sweome I'm looking into a double TRD as well, did you get a 4x4? im debating between that and 2wd. The case is I dont really need the 4x4 and the 2wd comes with the off road package.

Welcome to Tacoma World. I would suggest heading over to the Build Threads to give you ideas of what everyone else has done to their trucks.
