New to this taco world...

Hi..I am lined up to get an 02 Tacoma reg cab 2wd 4cyl 5spd. I have never owned a truck in my life but due to me looking for a house with my fiancé I have to sell my current baby an 07 civic si. I am getting the Taco from my brother and can't wait. It has 109,000 well taken care of miles on it. I searched forever for a Taco and thats when my brother told me he didn't want his anymore, he said he will sell it to me for $4,500 which seems like a good deal. What can I expect from my soon to be Tacoma?

 

First thats a sweet "brother" type price you got that 4 cylinder-is it the 2.4 or the 2.7? Either way, you're in for years of uninterrupted joy! My son has the '99 reg cab non-prerunner w/5-speed-144,000miles and just loves to run like hell They're good trucks, especially when you make them work.

its the base model which I believe is the 2.4, and has ac thats about it oh and a sliding rear window haha. I will def take pics and post...My bro said it was just tuned up and I asked if they did the timing belt and he said it didn't have one and that he thinks it has a chain, is this true and how long will the chain last for? The last thing I want to do is for that to crap the bed on me..
