I have an 07 SR5 Tacoma 4x4, 4 door. I am starting to hear a noise comming from the engine compartment. If it were an eighties Ford ruck, I would swear it was a power steering pump going out. Is is a kind of a buzzing sound that changes with engine RPMs. I checked the power steering pump and the a/c clutch but it isn't either of them. Could it be the ideler or tensure pully?

Check your pulleys for noise. Pull the serp belt and turn them by hand. Check for play and noise.

You were correct. Pulled the belt and it was an ideler pully. Thanks.

Mine made a Ford power steering buzz yesterday for a short time. Sounded kinda nasty.

Glad you found it. Sometimes they are very hard to find.
